it’s pretty simple.
Women are not small men. (Thanks, Dr. Stacy Sims!) And yet, we have been told we need to train and race like men.
It wasn’t until 1967 (nearly 70 years after the inaugural race) that women were eligible to run the Boston Marathon. It was in the 1950s and 60s that the major foundational research for running was conducted. So, the vast majority of research was done on men. The results were, for men. Men, who are circadian (24-hour hormonal) cycle.
Women are infradian- meaning we’re on an average 28-day cycle (22-56 is considered “regular,” which yes, we can go off on that, too..). meaning that on average, hormonally, men feel the same day in and day out and women, on average, feel a distinct physiological difference between day 1 and day 17, day 5 and day 27, etc.
It’s no wonder the average female runner claims they’re exhausted, has hit a wall, or lacks motivation when it comes to running. Rather, we’ve been playing the rules of a game that were written without us in mind which has left us… in the dust.
We’re leading the pack to revolutionize how we run by implementing our signature methodology utilizing our natural, primal internal architecture as the framework for our training plan, coaching, and support.
